Widefield School District 3

It is my pleasure to endorse William “Wen” Dolphin, and Michelle Hubbard for Board of Directors for Widefield School District 3. Wen’s classroom experience as a substitute teacher at Mesa Ridge, and his integrity driven leadership will be a tremendous asset to our district. Michelle’s long history of service through the PTO, BAAC, and most recently former President of the District Accountability Committee. I believe Wen, and Michelle are level-headed, and work well with a wide variety of people. I think they will be especially sensitive to concerns of staff, students, and families. Together they bring balance, compassion, and the community focus our schools deserve. For these reasons I hope you’ll join me in supporting William “Wen” Dolphin, and Michelle Hubbard for Widefield School District Board of Directors.

Neil Nelson

My name is Neil Nelson. My wife and I have lived in the Widefield/Security area for fifty years.

Both of our children attended Widefield schools and graduated from Widefield High School. Our granddaughter graduated from WHS and her brother will graduate this year from WHS. I taught in the Widefield school district for thirty-two years. Twenty-three of them at Janitell, and nine at Mesa Ridge. My wife also taught and retired from the Widefield School district.

After retirement I served seven years as a member of the Widefield Board of Education. I truly love our community and our school district. That is why I’m endorsing and voting for Michelle Hubbard and Wen Dolphin for seats on our school board in this coming election. Both Michelle and Wen truly want what’s best for all of our students and to provide each student with the means to be successful in whatever they do in life. Neither of these two candidates are aligned with national organizations that promote agendas that are contrary to what makes Widefield special. Please vote for Michelle and Wen!

I would also ask that you vote yes on measures 4A and 4B. During my time on the board, I became acutely aware of the many needs our school buildings have to keep them safe and functional for our students. Over the years our facility and maintenance personnel have done an incredible job maintaining our facilities on a very limited budget. It is time to move forward with needed repairs and updates.

The ballot measure will also make it possible to continue to have armed security in each of our schools and to attract and keep the best district personnel.

Please vote for Michelle Hubbard and Wen Dolphin for School Board, and yes on ballot questions 4A and 4B!

Even though my son is no longer enrolled in Widefield School District 3. I continue to care deeply about the students families, and educators in our community. I have witnessed important it is to have board members who truly represent our students best interests without making it about politics. That's why I'm proud to endorse William "Wen" Dolphin and Michelle Hubbard for the Widefield School District 3 Board of Education.

Michelle has been a dedicated and active parent whose involvement has extended for beyond her own children. She has consistently shown up for the kids in our community, always advocating for what's best for them and ensuring families have a voice. I know she will bring that same commitment and compassion to her role on the school board.

Wen is a candidate I've had the privilege to speak with personally. Through our conversations, it's clear that he has the integrity, understanding, and vision needed to strengthen our schools and support our caucators If my son ever chooses to return to WSD3, I can confidently say he would be in good hands with leadership that priorities students, famities, and the community over politics.

I wholeheartedly support William "Wen" Dolphin and Michelle Hubbard for the Widefield School District 3 Board of Education.
